Effective Presentations

4 Saturday Afternoons, 1 PM - 4 PM
Learn to engage your audience and present like a professional. You will build your own presentation from concept to polished speech. In this class you will learn how to:
- Identify and polish your core message.
- Build your "story" around your core message.
- Focus on your audience and speak from a simple outline.
- Structure your introduction, conclusion and "story" to effectively engage your audience.
- Create presentation slides that follow your message.
- Organize your content and choose a style that is appropriate for your audience.
- Use your voice to enhance your message.
- Utilize your body language "strike zone" to keep your audience engaged.
- Answer audience questions clearly and effectively.
- Create your own presentation development plan for future presentations.
Presentations in English do not have to be difficult. This class is designed to help you deliver presentations more effectively.
Every participant in this class will design and give a presentation. You are welcome to use a presentation from your work or create a presentation on a fun topic that you choose.
The class will meet for 4 Saturday sessions for a total of 12 class hours. Classes will be Saturday afternoons from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM.

- A: Our classes are mixed-level. If you have a question about the level of a class, please call us at 408-524-1649 and an instructor will do a quick level check over the phone.

- Q: What is your cancellation policy?
- A: Cancellation Policy: Cancellations prior to the first day of class will be charged a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations after class has begun will be charged the full tuition. We do not offer exchanges. Ovient reserves the right to cancel the class at anytime due to low enrollment or extenuating circumstances. If we need to cancel the class, you will be offered a full refund.

- A: Since our classes are very small in size, we do not typically allow students to observe. However, we are always happy to answer any questions about our classes. Please give us a call at 408-524-1649.

- A: Our students are often surprised by how much they learn from their classmates. Classes give you a unique opportunity to make new friends and business contacts, learn from others, and practice speaking with business people from a variety of language backgrounds.

- A: Yes. Let us know what you need, and we will be happy to provide either a letter or a certificate of completion.

- Q: What textbooks do you use?
- A: This is one of the best things about Ovient. We use our own materials. This allows us to keep them up-to-date. We update course material before each class to make your learning as authentic as possible. The one exception is our Intensive Business English class which uses a more traditional textbook.

- A: All of our public courses are held at our Sunnyvale Offices. The address is 440 N. Wolfe Rd., Sunnyvale, CA 94085. Call us at 408-524-1649 if you get lost. Parking is free at our office.

- A: We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. You must pay in full before the start of each class.

- A: Most of our classes are small with only 4-10 students each. The Intensive Business English class typically has 10-20 students. Seminars may have 10 or more participants.
